THE AUSTRALIAN RELEASE OF “Whisper My Name”

Not content with just one launch party we decided to do a month of performances in March 2003.

And a very busy and successful month it was, with the highlights being Friday nights at Sydney’s prestigious Wine Banc, the shooting of a live DVD at Wine Banc (thanks Grant Sassall) and an exhilarating outdoor performance at The Opera Bar at Circular Quay.

Oh…and loads of cd sales!

March 28 marked the official release party at Wine Banc to celebrate the Australian release of the album. According to management at Wine Banc it was a record crowd!

Special thanks to my amazing band…Bill Risby (piano), Peter Northcote (guitar), Victor Rounds (bass) and the album’s producer, Kere Buchanan (drums).

BILLBOARD SONG COMPETITION

Latest news with Louise is that, along with producer/co-writer Kere Buchanan, she has scored a 2nd placing in the Gospel section of The BILLBOARD Song Competition for their song “Prayer For You”.

Out of 9 categories – there is only one other Australian (3rd in the Dance section) and one Englishman (1st in Jazz section) who placed in the top 3 in each category – the rest are American winners.

Another award to add to the already impressive list for her latest album, “Whisper My Name”!

The Painter and the BirdLouise Perryman & Bill Risby

Be transported by this mesmerising selection of timeless songs presented intimately and beautifully on piano and vocals.
Recorded on a friend’s Steinway, and with their pet bird chirping in the background and the painter next door moving his ladder constantly (!), the songs are sometimes played exactly as written, and sometimes not, but always with Bill’s superb touch and sense of romance and Louise’s soulful, stirring vocals.

Nowhere Near Eleven

With just one or two guitars or simply piano as well as hand percussion, the vocals are given the chance to be the star here. This award-winning recording is a celebration of what can be achieved “live” with little instrumentation and amplification. Well crafted, sensitively composed and arranged, the songs are at times humorous, instantly “hummable” and always heartfelt and honest.Read More
